It's a perfect fit for energetic high school and college students, teachers, youth workers, and graduate students who love children, outdoor activity, and making a difference. We look for people who are enthusiastic, creative, skilled in a teaching area, and genuinely interested in working with children. Our counselors to camp ready to “give of themselves” and have the necessary levels of maturity, common sense, dependability, trust, and selflessness required to work with children. At least 60% of our staff returns year after year.

Requirements
Must be at least 17 years old at the start of the season.
Must enjoy working with children and have experience, which includes babysitting and volunteer work.
Must be available to work 5 full days per week for a minimum of 6 weeks between Monday, June 30 and Friday, August 22, 2025. Attendance and punctuality are critical.
Must be able to complete mandatory pre-camp staff training and orientation which take place over the course of the last two weekends in June and the weekdays in between.
Present regulations require that you must be fully vaccinated.

Our Aquatic Team consists of Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors & Aquatic Directors who coordinate and supervise all water activities in camp. If your idea of a great summer is having fun at beaches, pools and water parks, this might be the job for you. Requirements
Lifeguards & WSI
Lifeguards are wanted to supervise all water activities. Full time & Part time positions available (9:30 AM - 2:30 PM). Must be 17 years or older with some experience. Lifeguard and/or WSI certified. Certification must be current throughout the summer!
Aquatic Director
The ideal candidate will provide direction and supervision to the camp’s aquatics team, as well as provide the water safety program and protocol and culture throughout the entirety of camp.
Experience, Qualifications and Certifications:
Qualified Aquatic Director according to DOH, NY State and City Codes
At least one season of previous experience as a Camp Aquatics Director
Current Lifeguard Management Certification
Current and NY state accepted CPR and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
Current WSI Certification (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Understanding and implementing all PSDC, state and local health and safety requirements
Building and maintaining professional relationship with Camp Director(s), members of the camp’s leadership team as well as members and representatives of the public pools, beaches or any water facilities in which we partner.
Maintain appropriate staffing and supervision to deliver aquatic programs
Effectively supervise, evaluate and develop lifeguards, WSI’s and other members of aquatics team.
Assist and support leadership and support staff as requested or delegated to by Director(s) of camp

The ideal candidate is an individual who has experience as a summer camp supervisor, a knack for training, supervising, and developing young staff, and enjoys working outdoors.

Being a PSDC supervisor is excellent preparation for almost any career path you could imagine including, but not restricted to, child centered careers. Your marketable skills include organization and time management, logistics planning, interpersonal communication, leadership of a large group, teamwork and collaboration, and adaptability. While this is a serious and a responsible job, our days are full of fun and everyone loves our staff outings and parties.
What do our Supervisors do?
Supervisors provide guidance and support for the unit to which they are assigned in the areas of group and behavior management, programming. They:
Take responsibility for the health, well-being, and happiness of the staff and campers in their unit.
Plan activities and events and ensure that our program is delivered according to schedule and with excellence.
Work hands-on with their groups, lead by example, and push-in for activities.
Develop their staff.
Communicate with our office and directors.
Are responsible for disseminating information about health and special needs, and ensuring compliance, including accounting for camper's medical devices.
Meet with campers' families.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old at the start of the season.
Must enjoy working with children and have solid experience and excellent recommendations.
Must be available to work 5 full days per week for a minimum of 8 weeks between Monday, July 1 and Friday, August 23, 2024. Attendance and punctuality are critical.
Must be able to participate in planning and attend mandatory pre-camp staff training and orientation which takes place during the month of June.
Present regulations require that you must be fully vaccinated.
