Our Immunization Policy
We require a current medical form and our campers and staff to be fully immunized in accordance with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regulations, with the sole exception of those who have a current medical exemption for a specific immunization or immunizations from their primary care physician. Notwithstanding the forgoing limited exemption for other illnesses, we will not enroll (and may withdraw or terminate) a camper or hire a staff member who is not vaccinated against measles or against any other current outbreak or epidemic.
What do you get from the PSDC experience?
Being a PSDC staff member builds marketable skills including effective communication, leadership, teamwork and collaboration, patience, and adaptability. While this is a serious and a responsible job, our days are full of fun and everyone loves our staff outings and parties. Perhaps the best part of being on our staff are the friendships that last a lifetime.
The Park Slope Day Camp operates an eight-week summer season (6/29 - 8/21) and a mini camp at the end of the summer (8/24 - 8/28). Mandatory pre-camp staff training and orientation takes place over the course of the last two weekends in June and the weekdays in between. Your commitment will be between 1 and 3 days, depending upon the position and extra responsibilities that you are hired for.
We require a commitment of 5 days a week for at least 6 weeks. 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM. Attendance and punctuality are critical.
What positions are available?
Aquatic Staff and Lifeguards (must be 17 years old)
Junior Counselor (must be 17 years old)
Counselor (minimum of 18 years of age and already attending college)
Head Counselor/Group Leader (minimum of 20 years of age with some college)
Specialty Instructor in all areas including drama, dance, skateboarding, clowning, gymnastics. We will consider most creative and athletic interests.
